      Service: Customised Wig / With Lace Closure

      – I was originally told it would take no more than 3 weeks for my wig to be ready and shipped to me and I specifically informed the stylist that I needed the wig to arrive in time for a wedding i was attending. It took over a month to come – Communication was initially good and Sandra’s team were always very polite and helpful however, when I was chasing to see where my wig was and the reasons for the delay they were very unresponsive at times, taking 2-3 days to get back to me. – When the wig FINALLY arrived I was so disappointed in the quality. Firstly the unit wasn’t dyed jet black. I paid £50 for the dying service and this wasn’t done. When I queried this they gave me a refund and said that it apparently an oversight by Sandra’s assistant. – The bundles and closure were clearly low quality and the length is more of a 14-16 than 20-22 because of the amount of short strands in the bundles. Also the fly aways on the closure are absolutely ridiculous! So many short strands that take so much effort for me to conceal. The lace is bad quality, within two weeks there were two holes in the lace. – The wig was not full and it was clear the full 3 bundles were not used however I wasn’t sent any leftover hair. When I enquired they said that the assistant forgot to include the hair and this would be shipped separately. It took over 2 weeks for this to be done and in the end they sent me a brand new bundle instead (must have thrown away the hair by mistake) – The construction of the wig was an absolute joke! It’s clear that Sandra made the wig in a rush. The stitching was so poor resulting in the wig being bumpy so as well as dye the unit myself and add another bundle in, I also had to restitch the whole unit. All in all it was honestly not a great experience and I 100% feel like I wasted my money and will never purchase a wig from an instagram stylist again. Sandra’s instagram looks amazing so maybe my experience was just a one off caused by the volume of clients/orders she had at that time but to pay almost £400 and receive such a poor level of service is beyond disappointing especially as I saw it as an investment and planned to rock this wig for the whole year. Two months later I’ve already had to fork out a further £300 on new hair. I do want to say that Sandra and her team are very friendly and professional in their email communication and if not for all the chasing I had to do and the lack of response at certain time I would rate them very highly for customer service skills.

      Service: Hair Extension Purchase

      I made a purchase of some bundles on April 30th and shortly after recieved an email update stating that my hair would be dispatched on the 7th May. This put me at ease as I had a hair appointment booked for 25th May and also set my expectation quite high as this appeared to be good customer service (email response time was 2 days). Particularly because I have experienced some bad customer service from other ‘new age’ hair stylists and companies in the past. Unfortunately I was wrong and after this point it all went down hill. After a week or so of no communication or update from the stylist/vendor, I had a look at her Instagram page which stated that she was not taking hair orders from 1st-17th May. This was a little confusing as this was not mentioned in the initial update email, however I wasn’t too concerned as my appointment wasn’t until Saturday 25th May and I believed there was still some time for the hair to get to me. On the 18th May, I sent Sandra an email to simply give me an update on the hair and explained I had an appointment booked for the 25th. As her bio states that she only works Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, so I was reasonable with my expectation and gave her a few days to respond as I sent the email on a Sunday. After a few days I text, called, imessaged, and whatsapped the number the provided, I even replied to one of her insta stories, but even up until now I have not heard anything back. This has been 8 days since reaching out for an update and almost a month since I placed my order! I have now requested a refund and purchased hair from another vendor. I also missed my hair appointment on the 25th May which was NON-REFUNDABLE! Let’s see how long it takes her to refund my money. One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of these hairstylists/vendors is that they always specify communication to be via email, but are the worst communicators via email and we as customers are forced to contact them through other means. It is disappointing and frustrating for me as I am all for supporting small black business, but sadly I’ve come to accept that a lot of these businesses are not quite ready for this type of support. You can have a skill or talent, but that does not necessarily mean you are ready to start a business!

      Wig Orders Made to be shipped take 2-3 weeks to arrive. This would be alright, if the seller communicated with you, however you’re left in the dark throughout. Wig has lasted 1+ year though & bundles still look lush, so one could say worth it.
